The information in thisdatabase has been extracted from twenty original E. Howard Watch Factoryrecord books generously donated to the Smithsonian Institution by Mr. DanaBlackwell. Mr. Blackwell was employed by the E. Howard Watch Co. andmanaged to save the record books from destruction. The record books areavailable to researchers by appointment in the Archives Center at the NationalMuseum of American History.

Try rebuilding the BCD again by executing the following, followed by Enter: bootrec /rebuildbcd. Which should produce this in the Command Prompt window: At the Add installation to boot list? Question, type Y or Yes, followed by the Enter key. Restart your computer.

Was a clock and watch company formed by Edward Howard and Charles Rice in 1858, after the demise of the Boston Watch Company.The pair acquired some of the material and watches in progress, based upon a lien against the defunct company held by Rice, but they were unable to buy the existing factory or machinery, so they moved to Roxbury.
